Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization (SUAO)
Khost Province – Afghanistan
As part of its humanitarian response to conflict-affected populations along the Afghanistan–Pakistan border in Khost Province, SUAO mobilized its project teams to begin field activities. The organization successfully completed the identification, registration, and review of 300 households in the districts of Ali Shir and Gorbaz, which have been heavily affected by ongoing hostilities.
To ensure transparency and coordination, SUAO held meetings with other organizations operating in Khost. These discussions helped identify communities with little or no humanitarian presence and avoided duplication of assistance. Based on these consultations, an initial list of affected communities was developed and shared with relevant actors for confirmation.
Following this, SUAO conducted field assessments through group discussions with men and women in the targeted areas. These assessments were used to determine whether the communities met the organization’s criteria and to identify the most vulnerable households.
After selecting the communities, SUAO began the household registration process. Experienced staff were deployed to carry out the work, ensuring that only eligible families were included. Special attention was given to prevent the registration of individuals who were not residents of the targeted communities.
The process was led by a monitoring and evaluation officer, supported by field staff. Community elders and members of the local shura accompanied the team throughout the registration process. At the end of the process, the shura reviewed and confirmed the final list of selected households to ensure transparency and fairness.
This approach strengthened trust within the communities and ensured that assistance would reach those most in need. The actual distribution of assistance to the selected households is planned for the coming weeks.
Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization continues to prioritize transparent, accountable, and needs-based support for conflict-affected families.
