As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to support vulnerable and conflict-displaced families affected by the Afghanistan–Pakistan border clashes, Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization distributed emergency cash assistance to 116 needy families in Gurbuz District of Khost Province on Monday, 21 Sawr 1405.
The assistance was provided under the project: “Emergency Response for Conflict-Displaced Families along the Afghanistan–Pakistan Border”
The project was funded by the Danish Emergency Relief Fund (DERF) and jointly implemented by Rebuild Aid and Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization.
The beneficiary families live in the areas of Nari, Masha, Bori Khail, and Sheikh Amir in Gurbuz District. These areas have recently experienced displacement, loss of livelihoods, and worsening economic and humanitarian conditions due to border tensions and armed clashes.
Project Objective
The primary objective of this project is to provide an emergency response to the urgent needs of conflict-affected families, prevent the worsening of the humanitarian crisis, and support vulnerable groups, especially women, children, elderly people, and female-headed households.
Farid Ahmad Yari, the Project Officer, stated during the distribution process:
“These cash assistance packages are being distributed to save lives, reduce economic pressures, and support families facing severe livelihood challenges as a result of the border conflict. We are committed to ensuring that the assistance reaches the most deserving beneficiaries in the most transparent and fair manner possible.”
Continuation of Humanitarian Assistance
Abdullah Samim, President of Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization, emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and said:
“Through this project, a total of 300 vulnerable families across different districts of Khost Province will receive assistance, and the distribution process will continue in other targeted areas in the coming days. Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization remains committed to standing beside the people of Afghanistan, especially families affected by crises and natural disasters.”
He further added that Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization has implemented a wide range of humanitarian activities in recent years, including:
- Cash assistance and legal counseling for Afghan returnees from Iran
- Emergency support for earthquake-affected families in Kunar Province
- Cash distributions for displaced families
- Social and legal support for vulnerable communities
- Planned humanitarian assistance for families affected by recent floods in Badghis Province
Transparency and Local Coordination
The distribution process was conducted in the presence of representatives from the Khost Directorate of Economy, local authorities of Gurbuz District, community elders, local representatives, and monitoring teams to ensure transparency, fairness, and proper access for deserving families.
Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization believes that cooperation, solidarity, and joint participation between humanitarian organizations and local communities can play a significant role in reducing the suffering of vulnerable families and improving their living conditions.
At the end of the program, organization officials expressed hope that these emergency cash assistance packages would help address some of the urgent needs of affected families and pave the way for broader humanitarian support to vulnerable communities.
