Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization Projects Overview

Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization (SUAO) has implemented a wide range of impactful projects from 2014 to 2024, focusing on humanitarian assistance, community development, and resilience-building initiatives. Verification and documentation of beneficiaries during cash assistance distribution for recently deported Afghan families in Herat under the project “Cash and Civil Support for Recently Deported Afghan Families,” implemented by Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization in partnership with Rebuild Aid Forening and funded by the Danish Emergency Relief Fund (DERF).

Cash and Civil Support for Recently Deported Afghan Families (Herat & Karokh)

Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization (SUAO), with support from the Danish Emergency Relief Fund (DERF) and in cooperation with our partner Rebuild Aid, is implementing the intervention “Cash and Civil Support for Recently Deported Afghan Families” from 8 August 2025 to 8 December 2025. This project responds to the urgent humanitarian needs of Afghan families who have been forcibly deported from Iran or Pakistan and are now struggling to restart their lives in Herat city and Karokh district.
Through this emergency response, SUAO will provide cash assistance to 280 vulnerable families, enabling them to meet critical and immediate needs such as food, temporary shelter or rent, essential household items, hygiene supplies, and transportation. By combining cash support with civil assistance and community-based follow-up, the project helps families stabilize quickly and move toward safer recovery and reintegration.

Cash Assistance for Protection and Sheltering of Earthquake-Affected Families in Kunar Province

Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization (SUAO), with support from the Danish Emergency Relief Fund (DERF) and in cooperation with our partner Rebuild Aid, implemented the intervention “Cash Assistance for Protection and Sheltering of Earthquake-Affected Families in Kunar Province– Earthquake Response in Eastern Afghanistan from 24 November 2025 to 23 March 2026. This emergency response addresses the urgent humanitarian needs of families affected by the earthquake in Kunar province, where many households have faced severe damage to shelter, loss of essential items, and increased protection risks.

Through this intervention, SUAO provided cash assistance to 200 earthquake-affected families, enabling them to secure safe temporary shelter and cover critical needs such as food, basic household supplies, hygiene items, and urgent transportation costs.

Flood Relief and Cash Assistance in Ghor Province (Funded by CISU/DERF)

In response to devastating flooding in Ghor province, Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization (SUAO) provided emergency cash assistance to 200 vulnerable households. This initiative enabled families to purchase essential supplies, including food, clean water, and hygiene items, addressing their immediate needs. By offering timely financial support, the project helped prevent further hardship and contributed to the resilience of affected communities.

Staff Capacity Building and Environmental Sustainability Initiatives in Firozkoh

Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization (SUAO), in partnership with Afghanaid, has initiated a comprehensive capacity-building program aimed at strengthening staff expertise and advancing environmental sustainability in Firozkoh. This  encompasses training workshops on project management, community engagement. The program equips staff with essential skills to implement impactful projects while promoting eco-friendly solutions for long-term community resilience.

Distribution of Greenhouses and Livestock Stable Renovation (UNDP-Afghanistan)

To enhance rural livelihoods and strengthen food security, Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization (SUAO) distributed 300 greenhouses and renovated livestock stables for 300 households in partnership with UNDP-Afghanistan. This initiative enabled families to cultivate their own vegetables year-round and improve livestock care, leading to increased household income and greater food self-sufficiency. By fostering sustainable agricultural practices, the project contributes to long-term economic stability for vulnerable communities.

Health and Education Support for 5,000 Individuals (In Partnership with Globuspuljen)

In collaboration with Globuspuljen, Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization (SUAO) has provided vital health and education support to 5,000 individuals in Ghor and Badghis provinces. This initiative includes the establishment of temporary health clinics, distribution of educational materials to schools, and organization of health awareness campaigns focused on hygiene and disease prevention. By improving access to healthcare and education, the project enhances community well-being and resilience.

Educational and Medical Resource Supply for 100,000 Patients (Through Genbrug til Syd)

In partnership with Genbrug til Syd, Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization (SUAO) provided essential educational and medical resources to support 100,000 patients across healthcare centers. The medical supplies included diagnostic equipment, medicines, and hospital furniture, enhancing healthcare facilities. Additionally, educational materials were distributed to local schools, improving learning conditions for students. This initiative significantly strengthened both the healthcare and education sectors, ensuring better services for communities in need.

Cash Assistance to Internally Displaced Households (Funded by CISU & DERF in 2022)

In response to the displacement crisis, Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization (SUAO) provided emergency cash assistance to 200 internally displaced households. This project, co-funded by CISU and DERF, enabled families to purchase essential supplies, including food, hygiene kits, and blankets, helping them meet their urgent needs. By offering timely financial support, the initiative alleviated hardship and improved the well-being of those forced to flee their homes.

With support from USAID, Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization (SUAO) implemented a nationwide media project from 2014 to 2015, reaching over 2,000,000 viewers across Afghanistan. This initiative focused on raising public awareness about critical social issues, including health, education, and women’s rights. Through radio and television broadcasts, the project delivered informative and impactful content, fostering community engagement and advocacy for positive social change.

Youth Empowerment through Sports & Herat Earthquake Relief

Saifrood Unity and Aid Organization (SUAO) has implemented youth empowerment programs that promote leadership, teamwork, and community engagement through sports tournaments, skill-building workshops, and leadership training.
